MUSIC ON THE WALL
Over January, Rachel & co-convenor Amie Gilholme ran a very popular series of ‘Music on the Wall’ painting workshops.
Covering three regional areas of Qld during one very traitorous Christmas break (due to vast flooding), they provided workshops to more than 45 young people aged 5 to 18 in the Burnett region at 12 different sessions.
Over 110 canvases were completed, and an adult workshop was also requested and run. Pieces from the classes were spotlighted in a regional exhibition held 2nd to 4th April.
Musical themes painted in the workshops included; ‘Indigenous/Islander’, ‘Pop with a Positive Message’, ‘African/Reggae’, ‘R&B/Hip Hop’, ‘Distinctly Australian’ & ‘Motown & Soul’.
